🙋🏻‍♂️

Hi I’m Ting
and I’ve been funemployed since February 2025

In that time I’ve

Read 33 Books

Traveled around the world for 120 days (and burned 860k miles to do it)

Ran my first NYC Marathon in 3hr 23min

Spent 59 days with my parents

Consumed 1,250 dumplings

How have I changed?

Disentangling identity from work and prestige. It was always easy to brand myself as a Harvard grad / Meta data scientist and that’s been enough of an identity to exist behind. Not working has removed that facade and forced me to just be me.

Better habits

Resetting the parts of my life that I will protect

A blank state to evaluate what I want to do in life – money, work, etc

What I learned from books this year

I think I’m a better and more thoughtful person and friend.

What’s in store for 2026?
